Five years ago when my husband and I decided to re-do the kitchen in our 40+ year-old house, we were fortunate to have a friend recommend Pete Mitchell to us. Five years later, with the kitchen done plus four additional major renovations, we are HUGE Pete Mitchell fans. We cannot say enough good things about him and the job that he does. First of all, he is a pleasure to work with. He always keeps you informed of the work schedule, so you are never left wondering when and who is going to show up, or what is happening next. Pete and his crew are truly nice people and a pleasure to be around. We continued to live in our house during the renovation projects, so we can say that from experience! Second, but equally important, is the quality of the work Pete does. He is truly a craftsman – everything he does is always beautifully executed. We have also been impressed with the quality workmanship of the various sub-contractors he utilizes. In addition, Pete has good design sense as well as good taste. For some of our projects, we knew exactly what we wanted, but for others, we just knew we wanted something different. Pete listened to us and gave us different options and designs. We have not been disappointed with anything he has done. Third, and most important, Pete Mitchell is a man of irreproachable character – a good man. We highly recommend him. When we bought our first home we contacted Pete Mitchell about installing a privacy fence, enlarging our back patio and adding a roof so we (and our dogs) could enjoy our new backyard. Pete took care of the design, all the scheduling and personally performed a large majority of the work in such a way that minimized any inconvenience to us and made sure that we were completely satisfied. The sub-contractors he hired for the concrete and replacement siding were professional, prompt, and courteous. My husband and I decided it was time to have a deck that we could enjoy and relax on, as well as entertain with our friends. We contacted a friend of ours to draw up the plans of what we wanted it to look like. Once that was done it was recommended that Mitchell Construction to do the work. We have known Pete for several years and knew that he would do a wonderful job for us. After the initial meeting and going over the plans Pete explained the logical reasons behind some of the changes he would like to make. I loved how he explained what materials would work best and how to not waste materials that were expensive. He and his crew began work in mid-May, and were finished by the first week of July. They worked tirelessly and I would get excited to see the what they had accomplished when I came home from work. We did have to have a new roof for the house and his roofers did an excellent job! They even worked in the rain and cleaned up all the debris. We have had work done on the house before and there was always trash left in the yard, but not with Pete's crews. Pete kept in touch with my husband and me throughout the week to let us know what was going on and what he was doing next. He is very professional and very patient. He never complained about all the texts and phone calls he just answered my questions and gave me the reassurance that I needed. He finished the job in time for our daughter's birthday. The finished product is far and beyond what my husband and I expected. My husband, daughter, and I enjoy our new deck so much that we rarely are inside. I sit outside, reading and drinking a cup of coffee just listening to the outdoors and saying a little prayer of thanks for Pete Mitchell and his gift.
